Presenter

Kristen Sanders is a dedicated Law-Enforcement Based Victim Advocate with the Victim Services Division of the Fairfax County Police Department. With over 13 years of experience, she has a deep commitment to supporting victims of violent crime. Her journey began as an intern with the Albemarle Police Department in Charlottesville, Virginia, and she subsequently gained invaluable experience at the City of Alexandria Commonwealth Attorney's Office.

Kristen holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master’s of Science in Criminal Behavior. Her advocacy work emphasizes treating victims with dignity and respect while helping them navigate the complexities of the criminal justice system. She is an accredited advocate with the National Organization for Victim Assistance, specializing in child abuse intervention.

In addition to her advocacy, Kristen is a knowledgeable trainer, providing education on GPS tracking, stalking, victimology, domestic violence, and child sexual abuse within the police department and to other professionals. She has presented at national conferences and served as a consultant speaker, sharing her expertise and insights to enhance support for victims across various platforms.
